Biography

Education:

M.F.A., Yale University; Sculpture, 1998

School of Visual Arts; Fine Arts, 1976-1980

Biography:

Originally born in Trinidad and Tobago, W.I., and educated in the USA, Ayoung has been involved with many long term collaborations with artists and artists collectives:

Colombian artist Carlos Andrade (www.andradeayoung.com), REPOhistory (foundering member: www.repohistory.org)

NYC, Godzilla: Asian American Art Network, NYC and

Interim Sites: An Urban Arts Initiative,New Haven, CT.

 

Todd Ayoung has exhibited in museums and galleries in Denmark, Austria, Belgium, England, Holland, Colombia, Costa Rica, and throughout the United States. His artwork has been published in THIRD TEXT, Front 3, Fredag, New York Talk, DOCUMENTS, Bomb Magazine, Kyoto Journal, Semiotext(e), Found Object, Art Journal, New Observations, Social Text, ARTBAR, Artworld Digest Magazineand Shifter Magazine.

Currently, Todd Ayoung lives with his family at an Intentional and sustainability based Ecovillage (http://ecovillageithaca.org/evi/) in Ithaca, NY, the largest on the Eastcoast; Is an Artist In Residence at New Roots Public Charter School (http://www.newrootsschool.org/), Ithaca,NY, which focuses on Social Equity and Environmental Justice, and is in the process of training to be a facilitator for Talking Circles On Race and Racism, at the Multicultural Resource Center (http://multicultural-resource.org/), Ithaca, NY.
